Biographical / Historical
The Kalamazoo Chapter of the National Secretaries Association founded in 1946 existed as a physical organization until May 2015, when the chapter dissolved and moved operations exclusively online. Over the years, the national organization’s name changed from the National Secretaries Association and to the Professional Secretaries International and finally to the International Association of Administrative Professionals.
The organization held monthly meetings and kept track of guest speakers, various committees and programs that were currently running as well as the organizations budget.

Abstract
This collection is composed of documents from the Kalamazoo Chapter of the National Secretaries Association which existed from 1946 to 2015 until the chapter moved operations exclusively online.
Physical Description
The collection amounts to 1.5 cubic feet and is composed of documents from the Kalamazoo Chapter of the National Secretaries Association. The association kept records of monthly newsletters (Visage, Professional Link, and Mall City Notes), membership rosters, board/chapter minutes and other materials. The entire collection is made up of documents that are 8” x 11” and the documents are in good condition with no visible discoloration or damage with the exception of two golden booklets titled The History of the Kalamazoo Chapter 50th Anniversary 1946-1996. Originally the collection came in boxes with no particular order and were later organized in categories that were similar and then placed into archive safe folders and sorted by year and or volume.
Provenance
The records were gifted to the Archives by Sandra Oaks, who was a member of the organization in July 2018.
