Scope and Contents
These two programs were for the 13th (1907) and the 14th (1908) annual banquets of the Lincoln Republican Club of Kalamazoo County both held at the AUV Auditorium on Portage Street. The programs contain a list of officers, music, menu, program and committee members for the event including the Reception Committee. There also are the words for the song, "America." In 1921, the first woman, Mrs. Edith Hodge became the President of the organization. The first annual banquet for the Lincoln Republican Club of Kalamazoo County was held on February 13, 1895 at the Kalamazoo House, attracting two hundred people. It has been held initially around Lincoln's birthday every year since then at different locations. Currently, it is scheduled in May. In 2016 they held the 121st Lincoln Day banquet.
