This is a collection of correspondence, brochures, greeting cards, postcards, illustrated folios, etc. produced by or relating to Arion, Bergamot, Black Sparrow, Bloodroot, Janus, Kat Ran, Ninja, Sutton Hoo and many other American fine presses which were operating in the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries.

Burton Edward Fischer Collection

The collection consists of one booklet containing lyrics and sheet music for five songs composed and published by Burton Edward Fischer. They are “Laddie,” with words by Mrs. N. W., “Absence,” “What’s in a Kiss,” “A Message,” with words by Daniel Derby, and “Saint of Sinner,” with words again by Daniel Derby. The opening page notes that the group of songs are dedicated to Burton J. Lenihan, and that the booklet is priced at one dollar.

Doubleday Brothers and Company

The collection is composed of ledgers, photographs, catalogs, promotional material and other miscellaneous items from the Doubleday Brothers and Company which produced blank books, forms for schools, banks and governments and stationery and also printed and sold office supplies and furniture. The company began in 1898 and left Kalamazoo in 2005. It exists as a digital printing company called Fidlar Doubleday and is located in Iowa.
