Scope and Contents
This collection is a fine press archive, representing the collected papers, samples and other materials of Barbara Cash (1930-1997) who was a printer and designer at Ives St. Press (Connecticut and Maine). The collection contains correspondence with authors and colleagues, designs for broadsides and books, business records of the Ives Street and Cellador Presses, professional association meeting and contest materials, and materials for the author's MFA thesis on fine presses in New England.

The collection has been divided into 27 series according to different groups of like materials representing the work of Barbara Cash and the output of Ives Street and Cellador Presses: Ives Street Press documents, Cash's master thesis documents, Cellador Press documents, binding samples, etc.

Physical Description
The collection spans 46 archival boxes (approximately 20 linear feet). In addition to sketches, hand-written and printed documents and sample work, there are samples of cloth, leather and silk binding materials.
In addition to the donation of the Cash's archive, Western Michigan Libraries also received an SP 15 Vandercook printing press, multiple cases of type and other letterpress equipment which is in use and on permanent loan at the Kalamazoo Book Arts Center.
