Nutriol Correspondence, July-December 1986

 File — Box: 2-HairLossProd, Folder: 12

Scope and Contents

From the Series:

Material in this series relates to the injunctions brought against hair growth product and clinics by Upjohn for deceptive practices. This was done because Upjohn was working on a product (Rogaine) that was scientifically proven to treat male pattern baldness and did not want to face competition that did not hold to these standards. Most of the material is prior to August 1988 when Rogaine was approved by the FDA and includes legal memoranda, motions, petitions, correspondence, as well as information packets put together on each product and/or company that was being pursued by Upjohn. These packets included advertisements that were deemed to be deceptive by the legal team at Upjohn as well as other pertinent information such as chemical composition.
