Scope and Contents
The local chapter of the Women's Christian Temperance Union began in 1877, organized by Mary Pengelly (1825-1911) who became involved with the state and national organization. By 1898 the organization was named for her. It was located in several different sites and even purchased a home at 301 Woodward in 1910 for its use. The booklet contains the subject and location of their weekly meetings, a list of officers, various vice-presidents from the local churches, superintendents and general members along with their addresses.
