Biography
Elias A. Whipple was born in 1845, Trumbull County, Ohio, the son of Christopher Whipple and Louisa Raymond. On March 22, 1864, Elias enlisted for three years in Company I of the Michigan 2nd Infantry. He was mustered in on April 14, 1864 and joined his regiment on June 27. On December 20, 1864, he died while on furlough at his home in Almer, Tuscola County, Michigan.
