Biography

Ran Huntsberry is the author of The Stranger Myself: Poetics of Identity. He has been a poet, a coach to corporate mavericks, a restorative justice facilitator, a rural family therapist and counselor to violent boys, a subversive college professor, a cofounger of Sonomama Improvisation Dance Theater, and Akido instructor, an oil field roustabout, a carpenter, a student in Japan for three years, a Harvard misfit for eleven years, a Montana football player, an Oklahoma ruffian, a Southern Illinois runaway, and the child of a northward-migrating, oil-chasing Okie father and an adopted Taoist mother who, like Will Rogers, never met a man she didn't like, including him. His poems have also been published in Parting Gifts, a project of March Street Press.
