Scope and Contents From the Series: Caroline Bartlett Crane became concerned with sanitary conditions in meat processing. After doing some investigating on her own, she was successful in promoting the passage of a meat inspection law in the State of Michigan. She then turned her focus to the national level, having support of U.S. Congressman Nelson.
