Scope and Contents
The collection is composed of materials relating to the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra League. The collection contains minutes, financial documents, newsletters, photos, brochures, and other materials relating to the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra League. There are many brochures, booklets, pamphlets, mailers, and event fliers with differing sizes. Forty-six directories are housed within the collection. In addition, there are eleven scrapbooks that contain newspaper clippings, photographs and other items about the organization's activities.

Biographical / Historical
In 1930, Leta Snow, founder of the Kalamazoo Symphony founded the Women's Committee to promote and support the symphony which they did in a variety of ways. The group continued, renamed the Women's Symphony Association until 1983 when it became the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra League and admitted men to their ranks. Two of the more prevalent activities the organization does is to raise funds for the orchestra and sponsor educational programs to foster music appreciation.

Abstract
This collection is composed of materials relating to the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra League from Kalamazoo, Michigan. The materials in this collection range from the 1930s through the 2010s.
Physical Description
Most of the materials in this collection measure 11 inches by 8.5 inches. Other items may have differing sizes. The forty-six directories measure 8.5 inches by 5.25 inches. The eleven scrapbooks are of varying sizes.
Most of the materials in this collection are in good condition. There are few signs of aging on most documents within the collection. Some documents have creases. The collection contains several photos with glue residue. Most of the documents within the collection have been printed with black ink. Many brochures and event fliers contain full color photos and graphic designs. Some of the clippings in the scrapbooks have come loose and yellowed through the years.
Processing Information
This is a deposited collection. It originally was 37 cubic feet but with efforts from several members, the size decreased to 9 after eliminating many duplicate records and other material felt to be not important to include in their archives.
