Jackson Club of Kalamazoo Program
Scope and Contents
The collection consists of one program from the First Annual Banquet of the Jackson Club, Tuesday, March 24th, 1908. Embossed on the cover is an illustration of a golden eagle with two American flags and a shield with the American flag on it. These illustrations are framing a black and white portrait of Andrew Jackson. Inside the program is a dinner menu, the program of events, and a list of musical selections that were played during the banquet.

Biographical / Historical
The Jackson Club was officially organized on February 15th, 1908 and was composed of over 800 members, and the First Annual Banquet on March 24th, 1908 was attended by over 500. All members were leading Democrats from the Kalamazoo area. Four years after their formation, the Jackson Club changed their name to the Jefferson Club, on October 20th, 1912. They continued to hold yearly banquets with dinner and music and the event was very popular. They operated until approximately 1920.

The collection amounts to .10 cubic feet and is composed of one item from the Jackson Club of Kalamazoo. The item is a program from the First Annual Banquet of the Jackson Club, Tuesday, March 24th, 1908. The item is in fair condition. The cover is off white card stock with some scuffs and staining, and the inside pages are thinner off-white paper.
