The collection is composed of one black leather-bound ledger from Farrell Products Company in Dowagiac, MI. The ledger contains the company by-laws, records of meeting minutes, and records of stockholders and stockholder meetings. The entries in the ledger range from 1923 to 1925.

Biographical / Historical
The Farrell Products company plant in Dowagiac was organized by Archie W. Farrell in November of 1923. The company was based at the offices of White’s Garage in the city of Dowagiac. The company manufactured machinery for the making and construction of washing machines. In 1925, the company transferred 51% of their stock holding to Thos J. Casey to secure additional capital. The Farrell Products Plant closed on August 17, 1926. Officials said it was due to the plant being to far from the sales headquarters in Chicago. The closure instigated a court fight between local shareholders and the Chicago headquarters over disposal of the remaining products.

Physical Description
The collection amounts to .10 cubic feet and is composed of 1 item from the Farrell Products Company formerly in Dowagiac, MI. The ledger measures 14” x 8.5”. The cover of the ledger is made of heavy black leather with the words “Corporation Record” stamped on the front. The pages are thin off-white paper with yellowing. All entries are made in ink.
