Kalamazoo Portrait Photographers
Scope and Contents
The earliest photographs begin around 1870 and end at 1900. They show a variety of people, typically men or women at various ages although there are a few photographs of children. The photographs for the most part are head and shoulders portrait. Two of the children's photographs are full-size portraits. They are in sepia tone and show various hairstyles and clothing.

Abstract
The collection is composed of photographs, mainly carte de visites, cabinet cards and miscellaneous photographs of unidentified people taken by Kalamazoo photographers. These photographs more than likely were taken anywhere between 1870 and 1955.

In alphabetical order according to the photographer's name.
Physical Description
The collection amounts currently to a total of .50 cubic feet. There are a number of carte de visites, cabinet cards and photographs. They are, for the most part, in good condition although there are some photographs that have a few brown spots and are slightly yellowed. There is one 8”x10” photograph that is in two pieces. All of these photographs have the name of the photographer on them. The name of the photographer is on each envelope or folder with dates when they were located at the specific address stated on the photograph or when they were located in Kalamazoo in general. There is no inventory although they are arranged according to type of photograph and photographer, in alphabetical order.
