Scope and Contents
The collection is composed of two commemorative items from the St. Joseph Church in Kalamazoo, MI. The items range from 1915-1990.
The first item is a 75th Anniversary booklet with information about the church and its clergy and photos of the building and people.
The second item is a Dedication Souvenir which contains the history of the church and photos of clergy members, classes, and other officials from St. Joseph and other churches in the Kalamazoo area.

Biographical / Historical
St. Joseph’s Church began as the St. Joseph Mission in 1904. St. Joseph’s School opened in 1913 and construction on St. Joseph’s Church began in 1914. The Dedication Souvenir in the collection recounts the history of the Catholic community and earlier churches in Kalamazoo and commemorates the dedication of the finished St. Joseph church. The 75th Anniversary booklet provides a brief history of the parish, a detailed description of the church’s architecture and interior decoration, and provides names and photographs of the clergy at the time. There are several richly colored photographs of the church’s stained glass windows.

Physical Description
The collection amounts to .50 cubic feet and is composed of two commemorative items from the St. Joseph Church in Kalamazoo, MI. The first item is a 75th Anniversary booklet measuring approximately 12” x 8.5”. The second item is a Dedication Souvenir measuring approximately 12” x 9”. The 75th Anniversary booklet is made of heavy green paper and the pages inside are smooth. The churches emblem stamped into the cover and the title in gold letters. The Dedication Souvenir is bound with cord and the cover is heavy green paper.
The 75th Anniversary booklet is in good condition and the Dedication Souvenir is in fair condition with mild wearing at the edges and some yellowing on the pages.
