Minnie Glas (1892-1977) was born on August 13, 1892 in Kalamazoo, MI to parents John and Frederika Glas. She attended Kalamazoo Public Schools through to high school in 1911, with a possibility that she graduated. This was documented through a census search for 1940 stated that her highest education was year four of high school and a genealogical search that produced a listing of her name as a senior at Kalamazoo High School.

With the certificate was a partial piece of paper with written information saying “6. Peter Dykster Lause-The diploma for Minnie Glas-Minnie lived on John Street off Crosstown Pkwy. and worked as the bookkeeper at J.R. Jones Dept. Store.” This address was confirmed through an Ancestry search, which also documented that she lived with her family through each census available through the 1940s. The Ancestry searches also documented her continuous work in a dry goods retail. Both address and work were also confirmed in Kalamazoo City directories.
