Scope and Contents
The collection is composed of 15 boxes altogether with 10 of those boxes being 1.0 cubic feet of Kalamazoo County Council of Governments (hereby after referred to as Kalamazoo C.O.G.) material and several smaller Hollinger boxes. The materials enclosed are related to the Kalamazoo C.O.G. organizational structure, long-term planning, and various initiatives the organization took during its tenure of being. The material dates from c.1981-2001.
Kalamazoo County Council of Governments records include audio tapes, 1983-1997; video tapes; quarterly reports, 1983-1997; correspondence, 1983-2001; Services Directory for Kalamazoo County Human Services; information on railway consolidation; and information on waste management and water quality.

The Kalamazoo County Council of Governments was an organization that promoted city and local consolidation of services from 1981-2001. There is a reboot Kalamazoo C.O.G. organization that was founded in 2012 that serves as an advisory best practice group for inner city cooperation

The collection amounts to 12.5 cubic feet and is composed of financial records, organizational committees, Kalamazoo C.O.G. initiatives, membership meetings and agendas, newspaper articles about the Kalamazoo C.O.G. and etc. Mainly the collection is made of paper material, but there is also tapes and cassettes dealing with Kalamazoo C.O.G. matters as well. An inventory tracking and keeping Kalamazoo C.O.G.’s system of organization has been kept.
