Biographical / Historical
Murray Page was born June 8, 1881 to William Page (1857-1913) and Anna May Murphy Page (1857-1936) in Berrien Springs, Michigan. As a young adult, Page worked as a day laborer on a farm and remained single until the age of 37. On July 4th, 1918 he married Luella Wallace (1899-1985) of Niles, Michigan. While married, Page worked as an electric station operator and a power plant electrician, and had two sons, Robert (1922- ) and Glen Page (1933-2015). According to the letters, there were disputes as to whether or not Glen was Page’s actual son, which led to a divorce that was finalized July 8th, 1937. Page remained in Berrien Springs while divorced and worked as a janitor. He kept in contact with friends and family, particularly his cousin Glen Page who was helping Page renovate his house. Page died in Berrien Springs on October 24th, 1972 at 91 years old.
