Creator

Biographical / Historical

The Lull Carriage Company traces its beginnings to 1883 when L.C. Lull formed a company in Kalamazoo to manufacture agricultural implements. Eight years later he was joined by Tabor Skinner and in 1893, now known as the Lull and Skinner Company, produced a line of horse-drawn vehicles along with farm equipment. In 1902 the company was incorporated as the Lull Carriage Company and continued to make vehicles at the original plant at South Pitcher and Grace (now Gibson). The company stopped making buggies, sleights and wagons in 1920 and the factory was sold to the Dort Motor Car Company of Flint.
