Correspondence of Relative Marie Trostheide FIsher, 1944; 1974-1976

This collection is primarily composed of Reverend Sifferath’s writing and correspondence. It also contains letters from his relatives and his life history. A scrapbook created about him is included in this collection as well as photocopies of all of its contents. This includes articles, telegraphs, and letters. There is a correspondence folder dated from 1944 and 1974 – 1976 that includes letters from one of his relatives Marie Trostheide Fisher to the Sisters of St. Joseph. These letters primarily discuss her wish to write a story about Reverend Sifferath. There is also a miscellaneous folder that contains correspondence to and from Reverend Sifferath in their original and copied forms regarding his travels and mass. It also includes receipts, money orders, and confirmation slips. This collection also contains the original handwritten copy and transcription of one of his lectures entitled “Lecture on the Indians”. A small book of his translation of The Catechism is included as well as a history entitled “Old Arbre Croche” about Cross Village where he lived and worked for 20 years. Then there are 2 different histories written about Reverend Sifferath’s life, one by Sister Wanda Swantek and the other by Larry Massie.
