Bernice Frey Maxey Ephemera
Scope and Contents
The collection contains diaries from Bernice Frey Maxey (1900-2000). Also included in the collection are the diaries of Mary Greer Frey (1871-1959), Bernice’s mother, and the diaries of Theda Jones (1924-2005), a neighbor, friend, and distant relative of the Frey family. Many of the diaries are five-year diaries, though sometimes Bernice used them for only a three-year span. Bernice’s diary entries usually detail her daily activities, but world events... are occasionally mentioned. However, most entries recall things like the weather, daily tasks, or who visited that day. Theda Jones and Mary Greer Frey’s diaries also follow this pattern.
