Harry Penny was a farmer in Allegan during these years. Not much has been found about him yet although in the 1930 census he is living in Illinois with his wife Alice. At that time both of them are 49. In 1935 he is living in Allegan and working as a farmer. The diary includes information about the weather and his daily activities which include dairy production and farm life. He does mention Alice.
