Biography
According to pages 523-529 of A Twentieth Century History of Berrien County Michigan by Judge Orville W. Coolidge, Henry Chamberlain was born to Moses Chamberlain and Mary Foster in Pembroke, New Hampshire, on 17 March 1924. In 1843, he and his family moved to Three Oaks, in Berrien County, Michigan, where he owned land on which to make a farm. In 1854, he entered the mercantile business and eventually politics where he continued to be active until his passing in 1904. He married Sarah Jane Nash in 1851 who later died in 1852. Following her passing, he remarried Rebecca Van De Vanter Ames in 1856. He had three children, Mary, who became the wife of E. K. Warren, Rebecca
