Biography

The Four Township Water Resources Council (FTWRC) was an organization active within Barry and Kalamazoo counties for almost 30 years. Founded in 1994, the council operated with the mission to protect, conserve, and manage the natural resources found within the watersheds of these four townships. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Council formally dissolved in November of 2022. Upon its dissolution, many financial assets and future plans of the FTWRC were also distributed to local organizations such as the Kalamazoo River Watershed Council (KRWC), the Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy and the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary. These organizations still coordinate and promote many of the same events that the FTWRC initiated, such as Kanoe the Kazoo, Krazy for the Kazoo, and social hikes.
