Biography

The First National Bank and Trust Company received its charter in 1863. The bank building was built in 1916-1917 on the corner of Burdick Street and Michigan Avenue. The trust department was added in 1920. The bank is now called PNC.

Scope and Contents The ledger contains records of estates, will, and trusts set up by the banks patrons. Each trust contains information about the account, such as the name of the account holder, any beneficiaries, the date the trust was issued, the capacity of the trust, an initial inventory of the trust, and the bank’s fee.
