The group Southwest Michigan Coalition against Racism and Police Brutality was created to raise awareness within the Kalamazoo community about the arrests of African American drivers by police and then jailed unlawfully. The group wanted public support and people to join their group. Local members of the Kalamazoo community were active in this group by setting up protests, interviews, and newspaper articles. The group was located in Kalamazoo in the early 2000s. Currently, there is no updated news from this group since the early 2000s.
